The new heavy duty version of our original scissor type knurling tool. featuring both standard and counterbored knurls to accommodate a wide variety of jobs. knurling pressures are absorbed by the tool not your bed, compound, centers or feed screw. the knurls are quickly and easily replaced while still in your machine to minimize down time.. It’s possible as you can use knurling tools to do “chatter work patterns “on wood but to add knurling you need either a very steady hand or to have some means of holding the tools firmly in position. a scissor type twin wheel knurl might work better but that will definately need some sort of clamp to hold it in position.. The cut knurling tool. it seems like i’m always making a tool to make a tool to make a tool… then again that’s why we all started with the hobby isn’t it? i finally have some time to get back on the quorn project and it looks like i’ll be needing to knurl a few pieces..
A knurling is a tool that is attached to a lathe to perform diamond patterns and straight knurling. it is used for processing the anti-rotation and anti-slip of handle parts.. I was searching for a very long time after a hand knurling tool but i just found those for lathes… so i decided to build my own one. it works just awesome!!.
